A Natural, No Make-up Look. How To?

My boyfriend hates it when I put too much red lipstick. But I love red lipstick! He always insists that a natural, no make-up look is always the best look for any woman. I kept saying that's just not possible.

Until I found this: How to Do a Natural, No Makeup Look. Read on...

Step 1. Clean Your Face

Start by cleaning your face with a facial cleanser and gently drying with cloth to exfoliate your skin.

Step 2. Moisturize and Even Out Skin Tone

You can use a tinted lotion, like La Mer The SPF 18 Fluid Tint, which also contains sun protection ($65 at saks.com). Apply it like moisturizer giving you a sheer look.

Step 3. Conceal Any Flaws

You can use a pigment-rich concealer like Chanel Long Lasting Corrective Concealer ($40 at chanel.com) for visible breakouts or deep undereye circles.

Step 4. Use Powder If Needed

If like me you have a skin that gets shiny, follow with an oil-absorbing powder. Then if your skin is very oily, skip the tinted moisturizer and use only concealer and powder. You may use Bare Escentuals Bare-Minerals Matte SPF 15 Foundation ($28 at sephora.com) for this purpose.

Step 5. Pick a Warm Cheek Color

Cream blushes in warm peaches or pinks give skin a natural, subtle flush. Try Smashbox High Lights/Creamy Cheek Color in Naked Beauty ($26 at smashbox.com).

Step 6. Shade Your Eyelids

Choose an eyelid shadow shade that is slightly darker than your skin. For that extra eye brightening, try applying CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Champagne ($4 at drugstores) to the centers of the lids, the brow bones, and the inner corners of the eyes.

Step 7. Dot on Eye Pencil (Optional)

Lightly dot a soft gray or brown pencil between your top lashes (if your eyes need extra definition) with Shiseido Makeup Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil in Brown ($20 at nordstrom.com).

Step 8. Subtly Amp Up Lips

Pick a shade that matches your lips exactly and press the color into your lips with your fingertip instead of applying it directly from the tube. You may try Aveda Lip Tint SPF 15 in Verbena ($14 at aveda.com).

Step 9. Enhance Lashes

Even for a non-make up look, defined lashes are essential. Try Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara ($14 at clinique.com).
