Sears to Sell More Cosmetics

Sears to Sell More Cosmetics

Sears, Roebuck and Co. announced plans on Monday to sell more cosmetics brands that are normally found at the corner drugstore in 100 of its stores across the country. The new cosmetic departments will include brands like L'Oreal, Maybelline, Revlon, CoverGirl, Sally Hansen, Essie and Nocole by OPI. The company plans to hire "beauty advisers" to work in the departments to assist customers.

The brand lineup is not traditionally associated with mall department stores, but the company feels that it perfectly complements the new approach to fashion at Sears. Providing affordable and well-known brands to customers is part of the company's commitment to offer value and style in one destination. The chain is also partnering with Rockford-based manufacturer Colorlab Custom Cosmetics to open in-store shops where beauty consultants will create custom-blended cosmetics for customers.
